this is difficult. I've looked for comments from others hoping someone would respond first. We're leaving for Mobile in the AM, so...I went to Little Flower with Ricky Scott and Mary Dean and Roberta. Mary Dean was in Homeroom 218 with me our Senior year. I had a mad crush on Ricky from 1st through (maybe) 3rd grade. After that I just really liked him alot. Roberta was my best friend. Phil Sullivan and I drove home toether for Thanksgiving our Freshman year @ UGA. We were two happy kids, just glad to be heading for LA. I will think of them and miss them this weekend. I remember the faces and smiles of all our other classmates listed above and know they will all be in our thoughts.

Kathy McKean was my very first best friend. She lived up the hill when we lived on the lake and with all those brothers, I was the closest thing she had to a sister at the time. I remember at age 5 or so having picnics in the woods with her. Patty Kleinschrodt was in my first wedding and until her death, we kept in touch as I noted in the other page. So my first and my last best friends from school are gone but they left a dear place in my heart.

Kathy McKean and Margaret Parker Nell were great friends. They are missed.

Kathy was kind to me from the moment I moved to Mobile in 66 (junior year). She visited me the first summer I lived in California following grad school at Memphis State University. She always knew the "scoop" on everyone. The only female sib in a household of guys!!

Margaret Parker Nell was always a barrel of laughs. She was determined to survive to see her eldest daughter married!! Thanks God she was able to share that joyous day with her husband,Warren. I will always remember Margaret for her love of music. We always had to guarantee that we would get her home by midnite on Fridays,so that she could watch "Soul Train". She was a big Aretha Franklin fan. Thus, my special request last nite at the dinner/dance for the DJ to play Aretha's R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

My love and respect for Kathy and Margaret will always be.

I also remember with fondness our other classmates who have passed. They will always be in our memories and forver "Toolen girls."

I have a few updates.

Diann Barber Bouler died in June 2008. We tried to find her when we had an 8th grade St. Catherine's reunion 16 years ago.

We found:
Theresa Harris is in Auburn.
Pauline Turegano is in Mobile, taking care of her parents.

The other nine classmates are still not found.

I remember Gloria and Diann since they went to St. Catherines.

There are two more McGillians who are deceased:
Jimmy Bryant
Eddie Street

Re: Cathy Malarcher: My information goes back to the late '70's. She married Jay Kuhn and moved to Memphis. When Larry, the kids, and I were on our way to Mobile, we stayed at his aunt's house in Memphis overnight. I attempted to get in touch with Cathy. I found "Jay Kuhn" in the phone book and called the house. I was told that they were divorced and she's moved to the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Our religion teacher, Father O'Donoghue, became Msgr O'Donoghue, is retired and living in Ireland. He is with his brothers who own a Pub there. Sounds like a potential Road Trip to me!

I had been talking online with Debbie Rouse (Carter) right before she passed away. She had told me that she was not in the best of health, but never let on that it was as bad as it was. A few weeks went by where we sort of lost touch with each other. I received the OMEGA in the mail and saw her name among the deceased. I was shocked. I sent an email to the last address I had and to my pleasant surprise, her husband emailed back. He was making every effort to inform her friends of her passing. He was having a very difficult time accepting his loss as they had known each other since high school. I emailed him periodically, but have since, lost touch. I had forgotten what close friends she and Kitty Brasell were. I remembered quickly after talking with her at the dance.

Debbie was like a little mother to me. She was always giving me advice and encouraging me to be a little more out-going and sure of myself. That was a tough one for me, but I think I may have it now. Thank you, Debbie.

Margaret Parker's youngest daughter Allison has been my daughter Sharon's best friend since kindergarten. Allison is married to a great guy, Kevin Parker! Allison is a teacher in Atlanta and has a 5 year old daughter, Emma. Angie has several children and is a Pharmacist. Allison is like another daughter to me. I told her how much I was thinking of her mother during this reunion time. Margaret would have been such a fun Grandmother! Cathy Champagne
